So You’ve Bought Goth Fashion. Now What?

We come across various posts that talk about how people get motivated to switch to Gothic fashion because of various reasons and then never wear those clothes due to various reasons. So, we are throwing out a list of things that would help you on the right track when you have to come out wearing Goth fashion.

• Boots or High Heels

We really consider it a bad idea to start with fancy ass boots or high heels, especially when you are not used to it. Black sneakers should work just fine. But if you have already bought them, we advise you to firstly ensure they are super comfy. If not, putting oil (coconut, for example) is the best way to soften those rough edges. You can always throw them under your regular pants or skirts and they will amp up your look.

• Fetish Goth Clothes

Again, if you are someone who isn’t comfortable with skin showing, and has bought clothes that would normally be the taste of a fetish Goth, you need some clever tricks to wear them on a regular basis. The best one so far is to layer it up. Put on a high necked vest under the thing or maybe go ahead and throw that heavy trench coat on. Accessorize heavily. You can also use sheer clothing over it.

• Dark, deep quotes

We do like to have quotes all over our clothes or accessories. However, you can wear them on a normal day by adding some colors to them. Thanks to the nihilism of our generation, wearing deep quotes on shirts or clothes is quite a cultural norm. we are sure it stuck a cord with you when you bought it.

• Black lipstick

This could be the most intimidating thing of embracing the fashion scene. In countries especially like Asia, you are stared down in public because the color is associated with a lot of negative emotions. It is understandable why it is so in other parts as well. However, there are two ways to deal with it. the first is the obvious one, get out of your comfort zone and paint those lips red or, just don’t wear it. A black lipstick is not the only way you can make your makeup Gothic. Look up the internet for inspiration. You’ll have plenty.
