Types Of Unusual Goth Fashion Cultures (Part II)

Goth Types Gothic Fashion

This is continuing the list of Gothic fashion that we think is highly unusual and can be looked into.

  • The Perky Goth

The perky Goth is just again, an attitude. Given by the name, these Goths are cheery and friendly. They do dress up in a lot of darker or lighter shades. The aesthetics are almost that which provoke humor as they do not take themselves seriously and embrace the hyperbole of the culture. They should not be confused with the Cyber Goths.

  • The Corp Goth

Remember people being annoyed and telling Goths “it's just a phase!”? well, guess what? These Goths the cracked code of holding important positions without giving up their “Goth phase”. As visible from the name itself, these Goths brought the cool in the office setting. Pinstriped suits and jackets are inventions stemming from these beautiful souls. The Corp Goth usually finds its voice in a lot of overlapping areas but they are fun to try.

  • The Cabaret Goth

The cabaret Goth is another genre that stems from the genre of dance but just makes it much more Gothic. It anyway has elements of it from the corsets to the feathers. However, the cabaret Goth is just a dark, delightful twist on the whole idea. High heels, Garters, and tassels are not out of the question to enhance these beauties. The men usually take up dressing somewhere between a crossover of Dracula and mime performers.

  • The Faerie Goth

These were the Goths who were attracted to the mystique of the fairy world and decided to add the Goth to them. They blend elements of Hippie Goth and romantic genre with loads of glitters and fantasy elements to come up to being the Faerie Goth. We only have one word for them- ethereal! (Which by the way is their aesthetic too).

  • The white Goth

Interesting or weird? Whatever your opinion, the white Goths are really out of the convention. Instead of all black, they use all-white to create a whole chilling idea of what being Goth represents to them. It’s more common than we think and yes, if you are for the binary that white equals good and black equal evil, you might want to change your mind after looking at these pictures.

  • The carnival Goth

We are afraid this is quite a western concept. As Ella Sohott explains in her essay, the carnivalesque scenario is seen by the west as something that is too out of the ordinary. Hence, the charm. However, in the East, there are several ways in which the carnival is carried out. The carnival Goth then, we are afraid, is just an appealing idea in the west. Anyway, the costumes work a good degree for the carnival Goth because the whole concept is to ridicule the idea of calling Goth ridiculous. An exaggeration of sorts!

These were some of the unusual Goth subcultures that you might know of. Do you have any more to add?
