We really want to answer ‘no’ to this, but we cannot. That would just be closing our eyes to the dire realities of what happens. There are stereotypes that exist and you cannot do of what other people assume of you. but the good news is, they are just what we stated- stereotypes. You need to understand that your fashion statement is not against (or perpetuates against) whatever religion you follow. The upside? We also really don’t care if you are a Satanist. The fashion won’t judge you for it.

What is it to date a Goth girl/boy?

We are all people. So if you do get a match on tinder of a Goth girl or a guy, don’t proceed with offensive questions or stereotypes, you’ll get reported and blocked (We are not even going to regret it!). We are people and like being treated as one. Although everything has its own perks and flaws, we strongly advise you to not stereotype and go ahead and get to know the person.

Do Goths consider themselves as costumed?

Do you feel you’re costumed every day? No, right? Well there you go. That’s the simple answer. We’ll be costumed though, when you invite us to a costume party. (Don’t be afraid if we shop up as the grim reaper though or a fairy!)

Do Goths wear crosses for fashion?

The reasons range. Some of us do wear crosses and inverted crosses because we believe it is fun to subvert religious symbols and create a fashion statement. Although some might be just culturally appropriating it. Take steps to not do that yourself (Read: Goth culture and cultural appropriation). However, some of them do wear crosses due to their religious affiliations. It all boils down to personal choice (of course, without offending anyone).

What do women like on long haired Goth guys?

Again, personal choice is a huge key factor for any gender liking any gender but if we have to make guesses, it has to do with a lot of different narratives people ascribe to with Goth guys. They range from Goth men being super sensitive and comfortable in their sexuality to amazing eyeliner rockers to being the evil, bad guys. Now what attracts people can range from one of these to several things. However, you don’t need to turn Goth to date as well.
